Birthday Fairy Lee

Hello Happy Campers! How are ya doing today? Me, about time you read this I will be flying across the states from Maryland to Arizona to visit my parents for two weeks. My mom turned 85 on Sunday and my dad is 88 and  I have been trying to visit them several times a year for 2 week periods. Each time I go and leave to come back home, I get that great big lump in my throat. Yes, we can lose a love one, at any age, but when your parents are this old you know the inevitable is coming.  They are both still active, my dad has the beginning of Alzheimer's and my mom is at the beginning of dementia. It's hard to watch the mental changes occurring and at times it takes a lot of patience to be around.. They have been my best friends forever and July 5 they celebrated their 68 anniversary!! Wowzie!! Can't wait to hug each one!!

I made five cards in the past two days to post while I am away! Today's card was made using  Birthday Fairy Lee  by Mo Manning! If you are ever looking for a special image, or of a different culture, Mo's Digital Pencil is where you want to look first! She is a fantastic artist and her images are for all walks of life, holidays, get well and the list goes on and on!

Coloring pleats is not my forte! I envy anyone who can do it and it looks natural!! So what I do is to color over the lines in the images!! Use your imagination and you will see them! I added Diamond Stickles to her wings and bottom of her outfit to make them glittery!  Have you tried any of Marianne Design Creatable Dies? I LOVE them! The scrolls are perfect for cards,  they are thin enough to place anywhere and have a little more curves than the Nesties. On this card I used to different ones that come in the same package, along with a scallop circle and two flower dies. It's an awesome deal compare to the prices of other brand name dies.
  • Copics: Skin: E11, E00, E000. Dress: R02, R01, R00. Cupcake: YG2r, YG23, YG21, YG00.
  • Paper: Best Creations: Let's Party
  • Sentiment: Justrite
  • Leaves, scrolls, flower:  Marianne Design Creatable Dies
TIP OF THE DAY:  While your coloring and you go out of the line...don't despair! Two ways of fixing it. One is with your colorless blender by putting a piece of your paper underneath your image and pressing down with the blunt side of your colorless blender, let it dry, do it again if necessary. The paper below will catch the extra ink. For very small marks use a white marker. I use Sharpie's Poster-Paint Marker, extra fine point. It covers in one stroke!
