Monochromatic Coloring

Happy New Year!! Well, what kind of new year this be? Will we keep the promises and resolutions we make to ourselves? I have many! My two biggest ones are to lose the weight I have gained in the past several years, which is quite a lot for me. I am only five foot and one pound on me is like 5 pounds on  someone else.  And, I want to try and regain my muscle strength.  I have fibromyalgia and muscular dystrophy and my muscles have gone pah toot and it's time I fought to get them back! Are you making any new resolutions?

I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and may it bring you good health, love, joy, prosperity and lots of mojo!! This year went so fast  I keep thinking of the song "Don't Blink" by Kenny Chesney.  The words are so true about how fast time flies. I look at my children and think "I was just your age!"  You blink and the year is gone.  I love this video...listen to the gentleman in the very beginning.

Today is my official day of being a Designer on  "Through The Craftroom Door"  Design Team! I am so excited to be on the team for TTCD. What is TTCD? It is an online crafting magazine founded by two very dear talented friends of mine, Marti Wills and Suzanne Dean!  A bi-monthly digi-craft/arts magazine with great tutorials, templates and articles in each issue! Come join in the fun and read about new products, tutorials and much more!

My first challenge with TTCD is "monochromatic coloring."  When I saw what the challenge was I gasp and thought "oh no” for I have never colored monochromatic before. Well, nothing like the present to learn! Right?

I decided to color mine in greys with Copic Markers. My sweet image is Snow Gear, Snowbaby" a Elisabeth Bell image. Isn't she adorable!?! She is blowing you kisses!

TTCRD sponsor of this challenge is:

Prize: $50.00 gift certificate

Don't forget to check out The Outlawz Challenges! Our sponsors and wonderful prizes are:

What a lovely card! The tiny bit of colour is so striking and really adds a wonderful detail to your work.

Best of luck with your resolutions! I'd like to lose a few pounds as well... but am still enjoying the excess of shortbread I made!

Thanks so much for playing along with us at My Craft Spot!

Hello dear, what a stunning start to the new year. Your colouring is perfect, I didn't expect anything less from you, as you create such fab work. Hmmmm... can relate to some of those NY's resolutions... have a few of my own that get broken within the first week. Top of my list is also to lose the dreaded weight. Wishing you a good year and good health to you and the folks, hugs Sharon x

CONGRATULATIONS on your new Design Team Role at TTCRD? Are you not already busy enough?? LOL!

I think your card is fabulous and you would never know that you found monochromatic to be a challenge, but I also felt the same way!!

I am very excited to hear that you'll be taking the CAS Class and hope you'll LOVE it. I'm also signed up for Suzanne's new SMASH Book Group and especially excited about it, since I have had my SMASH book for months and never did much. I actually started on it a bit yesterday!!

For my New Year my goal is to have MORE fun, stress less about projects and to try and NOT let Fibro take over...even though I can NOT always control it. I am feeling better again and HOPE that it will continue!!

Wishing you a nice year full of fun and creativity!!

Hello again Colleeen.

One of my DT just noticed that since I visited the other day you have linked this work to more challenges and your entry now exceeds the number our rules allow.

I am sorry therefore that your entry no longer qualifies for Stampalot, but you are very welcome to enter again with a new piece.
