Lola , Victoria Case: SCACD

Hello there happy crafters!! It's really gloomy here today, much more than yesterday and ummmm I still need to clean the house:(. It's just more fun blog hopping...don't ya agree!?! The number one thing I miss from working is having a cleaning service clean the house. Oh how I used to love coming home and everything was done, sparkling and shinny!! One of the bestie feelings you can have!

My card today is with "Lola" I love, love this image for I am one of the biggest dog lovers! I used a gated background  I found in one of my folders with no clue where it came from. If you recognize it please send me a message so I can give credit to the artist. I had a blast making this! It's one of those times when you look at your own creation and say "I really like this!" I hope you do to!

Copics was my main medium and I used chalk to do the sky. I cannot do skies very well and wrote and asked my friend Anne Fenton to please draw me a few to use as templates. She sent me several and I still need lots of practice for they surely don't look like the clouds she drew!

TIP OF THE DAY:  Your digital ink bleeds when using Copics.  Several ways you can correct this!

• Change your print quality to fast draft mode. How to do this: Click print, on the next screen  preferences, next screen click on print quality and change it to fast draft. Everyone should be priniting on this mode for it will save your ink BIG time!
• Heat set it for several moments.
• Let it dry overnight before coloring.
• As soon as your image comes out of the printer, put clear embossing powder on it, click all the extra embossing powder off by turning it over and flicking it with your thumb,  heat set.

Digi images! Do you love digi's? They have their pro's and con's. What I do love is it prints out perfect every time so I use less paper for I am not the best stamper in the world!! Retirement Card

Hello Happy crafter's and a Happy week to ya! Today is a very gloomy day here in Maryland but I can't complain because we had two weeks of sunshine with very little rain. Decides I need to clean and why I am writing my blog post instead! LOL 

I was requested to make another Retirement card for a male who loves to fish! At Mo's Digital Pencil I found this beautiful image called "Fishing!"  how much easier can it get? LOL  When ever I need something specific I go to Mo's for she has a little bit of everything. Also, she has lots of multi-cultural images which I have card orders for! Love her images!

Fishing was colored about 4 times trying to get the sky and water to meet in the horizon. No matter what I tried it just didn't look right. so I did an easy fix! I colored the water immediately next to the boat and chalked my sky. The sky is a little darker in person with pink and purple mixed with it.

Make It Crafty

Happy Friday everyone! Today is show time with these adorable "Make It Crafty" rubber stamps images at SCACD.  Oh my gosh they are so dang adorable, I want them all! Not only the cutest  characters but, also lots of scenery images, fairy house, ship, treasure chest and it only gets better as you scroll down the page. My card is made with "Sandy At The Beach" Isn't she adorable!?! I had a blast making this card! Of course I had to give her a sunny, sandy beach to play on with her bucket! I added some sea shells which were buttons and sorry they were in my stash and no clue who made them. I added diamond glaze to her eyes to make them shinny and bright!

Happy Friday everyone! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I am not sure what we are doing,  it's going to be a hot one! The temperature has been over 100 all week here in Maryland! Looks like swimming is the only thing I am doing outside!

Today I am sharing an anniversary card I was requested to make. The lady I made this for has a good sense of humor and pick out these two images called Stella and Gus  Bugaboo Digi Stamps . They are so full of life and have a comment for everything! If you haven't seen them you need to go for they surely will bring a smile to your face and a laugh or two.

Hello happy crafters!! Happy Monday to you!! I used to hate Monday's until I read a sentiment or phrase somewhere that said "Mondays are 1/7 of your life!" That sure made me change my thinking! We had a bright and sunny weekend here in Maryland and of course I loved it! We are doing a lot of repairing around the house so spent several hours at Home Depot buying supplies. What I love about Home Depot is it is right next door to Kohls and with a 20 percent off coupon I went shopping! Lots of new summer tops and bathing suit. I'll tell ya.if I put a three way mirror in my kitchen with florescent lighting I would lose weight!! UGHH

TIP OF THE DAY: Cleaning Rubber and Acrylic Stamps:   Purchasing cleaner for rubber stamps can be expensive. I suggest using baby wipes to remove ink from your rubber stamps. Baby wipes can be purchased at many dollar or retail stores. Simply remove a wipe from the container and wipe ink from stamp. The wipes do not harm the stamps and can easily be thrown in the trash when you're finished.  Easy peasy!

It's Friday and the Sun is out!! Yeaaaaaa!!

Hello Happy Crafty friends and a big shout out to all my new friends! You really are what keeps me going and I pray I am making you smile in my little blog land here!  For everyone who has been following me about our new mattresses the third one was a keeper!! We have had three new mattress's in the past 3-4 months trying to find one which allowed us to sleep peacefully and wake up without all the extra aches and pains. The one we kept is a Tempur-pedic Cloud and let me tell ya what we paid for it you would expect it to sing you lullabies too!

I am going to start my Tip of the Day again! It's been awhile since I have done it and you might see some repeats for those who have not read them before so here we go!

TIP OF THE DAY:  Cuttlebug.  Does your B plate curve or arc when you are embossing with Die cuts?  Or does your paper come out of the die? My B plates have curved so much I had to replace them.    Now mine are flat as can be and my embossing is deeper, more crisp and the paper never comes out of the dies.  This is what I do. Instead of using two tan embossing mats, I took a cereal box and cut two pieces out of it the size of my B plate. My sandwich for embossing is:  B plate, die cut and paper, cardboard, tan mat, card board and B plate. By switching out one tan mat for two pieces of cardboard your plates remain flat with deeper embossing!
